We purchased an Ather scooter in 2024, and since then, the scooter has stopped working unexpectedly at different places several times.The biggest problem is when the scooter breaks down on the road. When we contact Ather support, we are told that the scooter has to be taken to the service centre to get it repaired.Recently, my scooter broke down again. I had to spend around ₹2,000 to transport it to the service centre on a loading vehicle, but when I reached the service centre, they refused to accept the scooter. Since it was around 7 PM, I had no option but to spend another ₹2,000 to bring the scooter back home.The next day, I again had to spend ₹2,000 to transport the scooter from home to the service centre. After that, I received a repair/service bill of around ₹5,000.So, I ended up spending around ₹9,000 just because of this breakdown and service-centre issue. Honestly, sometimes I feel that a petrol scooter would have been a better option. If a petrol scooter breaks down, it can usually be repaired by a local mechanic. But with an Ather scooter, finding a local mechanic is difficult, and you often have no option except taking it to an authorised service centre. Another issue is the cost of spare parts. There are multiple belts in the scooter, and I was told that one belt costs around ₹2,200. If different belts fail at different times, the repair cost keeps adding up, along with the cost and inconvenience of transporting the scooter to the service centre. I am sharing this based on my personal experience, not to discourage everyone from buying an EV, but to make people aware of the practical issues they may face. Expert in lying. its been months, weeks, days and my vehicle part is still not replaced, your service doesn’t communicate properly, doesn’t give any updates, I was told I will get my broken left side mirror in 5 days and now its been 10 days and they(service team) still don’t have clue and now they are saying the workshop is closed for next 3 days will be open on monday and we will update you, your team still can’t give me any surety. First, my vehicle front panel part, your salesman said service team will replace it(before lying to me that COMPANY is not sending or the COMPANY doesn’t have that particular part)and now your service team said we will not replace it, we will paint it for you and clearly said we will not replace it for you even the scratch part was caused by because of your sales team/ company. FYI, it has been more than 16months for the front panel part. Second, the broken left side mirror part, about that I was told we(service team) will order it for you, it’s been more than 3 months and your service team hasn’t received the left side mirror. They did say the company has sent the right side mirror, not the left side mirror. “YOU SAID MY PATIENCE AND COOPERATION IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED” its been 16 months and both of problems aren’t solved, now you guys tell me what should I do. Ather 450x 3.7kwh variant detailed review with researched of almost 4 months The Ather 450x an indian company created by 2 iitans in 2013 and as these people are working on EVs for 13 years, and this company uses fully indian parts to manufacture ev scooters the performance is soo good that is touches 90km/ph very stablely as the battery is at the drivers foot rest making center of gravity better and makes a rider fully confident with leans and sharp cuts. The magic twist is so powerful that we can skip braking sometimes, which helps increase the life of the brake shoe. Unlike other EVs, there is very little range drop, like only 5 to 6 km of drop and due to its wide network of charging stations, the range anxiety is less. The features of this EV are absolutely great, but there is a catch, which is its pricing with is approximately 1.6 lakhs without the pro pack. I think the pro pack should be included in it. Talking about performance, the Ather 450X delivers smooth and quick acceleration. In Warp mode, it feels very fast and responsive, which makes city riding fun and easy. The scooter is perfect for daily commuting and handling traffic conditions comfortably. With the 2.9 kWh battery, it gives a real-world range of around 85 to 100 km, which is enough for regular use. Updation problem I will never recommend buying ather because it will start updating whenever or wherever you are and your ather will not work for 15-30 min and if update fails in between you have to call tollfree number(which is closed at night) requesting them to update again. GO FOR ANY ELECTRIC THAN ATHER SCOOTER Disappointing service, uneducated service team, unprofessional service team/salesman. Expert in lying. its been months, weeks, days and my vehicle part is still not replaced, your service doesn’t communicate properly, doesn’t give any updates, I was told I will get my broken left side mirror in 5 days and now its been 10 days and they(service team) still don’t have clue and now they are saying the workshop is closed for next 3 days will be open on monday and we will update you, your team still can’t give me any surety. First, my vehicle front panel part, your salesman said service team will replace it(before lying to me that COMPANY is not sending or the COMPANY doesn’t have that particular part)and now your service team said we will not replace it, we will paint it for you and clearly said we will not replace it for you even the scratch part was caused by because of your sales team/ company. FYI, it has been more than 16months for the front panel part. Second, the broken left side mirror part, about that I was told we(service team) will order it for you, it’s been more than 3 months and your service team hasn’t received the left side mirror. They did say the company has sent the right side mirror, not the left side mirror. “YOU SAID MY PATIENCE AND COOPERATION IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED” its been 16 months and both of problems aren’t solved, now you guys tell me what should I do. Really regretting buying ATHER SCOOTER, let me know if there’s any exchange thing in your company , im interested in buying IQUBE or any other e-vehicle other than ATHER. Worst service you can get Went to the ather’s service station for the first time, worst service experience I have ever had since I started driving vehicles. WORST. There was a scratch on the front, I told them to repair it, they told me They don’t have that part, then I told them To repair my broken side mirror, they told then dont have it on the day of the delivery. They didn’t wash me vehicle when I asked the staff said he did wash it it just got little mud on the tyres, that's it. When I saw my vehicle it didn’t seem they even dropped a water on it, same condition no change at all, they just fixed my mud guard that’s it even that’s still Little loose they didn’t change it just tightened it a little bit. Ather Rizta Z — Disappointing Purchase Expeienced I purchased the Ather Rizta Z with high expectations based on the claims made at the showroom. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing from the very beginning. 1. Misleading Range Information At the time of purchase, the sales representative clearly stated that the scooter provides a range of 159 km on a full charge. However, after purchasing and charging the vehicle to 100%, the displayed range is only about 125 km. This significant gap between the promised and actual range feels misleading and undermines trust. 2. Rapid Battery Drain The battery performance has been another major concern. During real-world usage, the battery is discharging much faster than expected. For approximately 30 km of riding, the battery range drops by around 38 km, which is far from efficient and raises concerns about long-term usability and reliability. 3. Poor Delivery Condition To make matters worse, the scooter was delivered with a damaged rear bracket. Receiving a brand-new vehicle in a defective condition reflects poorly on quality control and delivery standards. Overall Impression Due to inaccurate claims, unsatisfactory battery performance, and poor delivery condition, my experience with the Ather Rizta Z has been highly disappointing.
