The Certification on Audit of Digital Systems (CADS) is a structured, multi-domain, multi-level professional certification programme developed by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in partnership with IIT Madras. It builds specialised competencies needed to audit complex digital systems, AI-driven governance platforms, and emerging compliance regimes. * No course fee for public auditors and officers under the Office of the CAG. A course fee of ₹2,000 per domain applies to all other learners. † Credit value is NCrF-recommended; participating universities/institutions may award additional credits at their discretion. CADS is open to officers and staff of the CAG of India, as well as general learners with an interest in the audit domain Each of the 6 domains is a standalone 45-hour course with its own certificate on completion. Certification in Public Audit domain is mandatory for all the learners. CAG officers are exempted from this rule. Important Criteria — Foundation Level Domain Access for General Learners: Only the Public Audit domain is open to general learners: Learners who are not officers of the CAG — including auditors from other organisations — may enrol only in the Public Audit domain. Enrolment to any of the other five domains will be enabled only on successful completion of the Public Audit domain. Domain Access for CAG Officers No restriction for CAG officers: CAG officers may enrol in any of the six domains without needing to complete Public Audit first. There is no prerequisite or exemption process for this category.

Important Information to Candidates Registration for the first batch of the CADS Program commenced with effect from 27.08.2026 Registration for the first batch will close by 23.59 hrs on 06.09.2026 Courses for the 1st batch will commence on 07.09.2026 Registration is in progress for Batch 2. The announcement for the start of Batch 2 will be communicated shortly. Certification and progression A credit-eligible, verifiable certificate is issued on completion of each domain by IIT Madras, SWAYAM Plus and IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. Learners become eligible for the Proficient level in a domain once they have completed the Foundation level in that domain as well as in the mandatory Public Audit domain - a minimum of two Foundation domains in total. Certificates are valid 5 years - 3 years for AI and Cybersecurity. The Proficient level must be completed within the validity period. How you are assessed 20 % · Case studies Case studies form part of the modules within each domain.
