I ask CS this site for this number and they don't know it. So how does one file a damage claim with Fedex if one used this site to print and pay for the Fedex postage? In addition, its been 2 months since the overbill by Fedex that this site acknowledged and still no refund back after repeated requests by this site. The combo of this site and Fedex are a hot mess. I just experienced today this same issue and I can't see how this is even legal. Fedex won't support you using any account number on the claim unless it's the one who "directly" paid for the shipment, meaning they will deny any claim where the sender uses their own account number instead of ebay, as the information doesn't match. If you call ebay they will NOT give you an account number or file the claim for you, or contact fedex to do so. They will only provide you links to go to fedex to download an .xlsx file which requires using an excel app to open. Once there, you have to edit the file and then email them but you still need the ebay fedex account number to do so which is not provided. It seems almost impossible to get assistance as fedex customer service won't even answer basic questions without the fedex account number, and will hang up on you if you ask for a manager. How can any company claim to provide insurance if it's literally impossible to get any assistance, let alone be able to provide a correct claim form application? Just had this happen with a Fedex shipment. It was a hydraulic press in a plywood box I built for shipping. 2" screws were sheared off, and it looks like a fork lift punched a hole in it. The pic on the step the driver sent faced the damaged end away so it didn't show. Have you received an update on this? Ebay and fedex did the same thing sending me back and forth for five two hours trying to get an account number and ebay continuing to say its on fedex, we will sadly be escalating this. @westchestervillage I would contact Fedx customer service. They would know best. Fedex customer service will send you back to EBay to get an account number. EBay will tell you they don't provide that. It's a misinformation feedback loop where you have NO recourse. FEDEX will provide NO INSURANCE coverage if you purchase your label through EBay.
