Electronic Arts published the new Laundry List in its July 14 announcement . The next base game update will introduce Auto save, save reminders, and memory boost features, while only a few bugs will be fixed due to the huge amount of work on these new additions. This Sims 4 update will be released on July 21, while now it’s under testing and improvement.
Memory Boost is coming to stabilize the game
A new feature will be added to the game that will optimized you game by managing the RAM usage. If you play the game for long hours, you will definitely notice. It will reduce lag and performance slowdown, increase the Frame Rates, shorten loading time, reduce delay, and reduce memory-related issues. It will help to deliver a smooth gaming experience like butter, especially when you are doing tough challenges or building heavy houses.
The update brings the memory boost to all platforms. It is not a dedicated save repair feature, but it will improve save stability and help reduce some memory-related save issues.
AutoSave and Save Reminders so you never lose your work
Two more features are coming in the base game: Save Reminders and Auto Save, which will protect your progress while you play. These are optional features but worth using. With AutoSave, you can set a specific interval, an important gameplay milestone, or travelling between lots so your game silently saves in the background without hitting the save button every time. This feature must be introduced early because when you’re spending hours in Build Mode or guiding your Sims through their next adventure, it makes it easier to keep your stories safe so you can focus on what comes next.
If you want to keep the thing under your control, you can setup save reminder that will show you a small prompt to remind you to create a manual save at your chosen frequency.
Together, these features help reduce the risk of lost progress while giving you the flexibility to save the way you want.
Developers said that this month our focus was on introducing the above features, which is why we were only able to fix a few bugs reported by the community on Discord. But they promised that they will have more information to share as they get closer to September, and in the meantime, here’s what they’ve addressed in the July 21 update:
[EA Forums ] We tested reports of corrupted lots appearing in saves with many Residential Rentals. With Memory Boost now available and enabled for all players, we can no longer reproduce this issue in any of the affected saves we collected.
[EA Forums ] We’ve resolved an issue where parts of a roof, or entire roof sections, could disappear when viewing upper floors in Build Mode. Roof pieces should now remain visible and render correctly regardless of the selected floor level.
Last patch, we added new Festival Notification toggles in the Options menu. In this patch, we’ve added a new toggle for Nordhaven Hobby Meetups.
What’s coming in the September update
Next month, the Quality of Life update is coming with improved general Sim autonomy to make the Sims behave more intelligently, consistently, and responsively across everyday gameplay. The focus is now to make The Sims 4 feel smoother, more reliable, and more enjoyable every time you play.
